Celtic complete deal for goalkeeper Brown

January 18, 2007

Celtic have completed the signing of goalkeeper Mark Brown from Inverness.

The 25-year-old former Rangers player, whose Inverness contract was due to expire this summer, had been linked with Falkirk.

However Bank of Scotland Premier League leaders Celtic last night agreed a six-figure fee for Brown, and he came through a medical in Glasgow today.

Brown believed he was the victim of a wind-up when he was told Celtic were trying to sign him.

Inverness director of football Graeme Bennett said: 'Mark thought I was joking when I told him Celtic were after him. But he's thrilled at the chance.

'He's been superb for us but it is good business to accept a decent fee now rather than lose him for nothing in May.'

Celtic have already allowed goalkeeper David Marshall to join Norwich on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old, who has been capped twice by Scotland, found his route to the Parkhead first team blocked by Poland international Artur Boruc.
