Udinese coach Galeone replaced by Malesani

ROME, Jan 16 (Reuters) - Udinese have parted with coach Giovanni Galeone and appointed former Panathinaikos coach Alberto Malesani in his place, the Serie A club said on Tuesday.

The club said Galeone's contract had been 'dissolved by mutual consent'.

Though not in danger of relegation, Udinese have lost seven of their last eleven matches, including a 2-0 defeat to Palermo on Sunday and have slipped to tenth place.

Malesani, who has previous Serie A experience with Fiorentina, Verona, and Parma - who he guided to the UEFA Cup title in 1999 - will take charge of the team for Sunday's match against Messina.
