HOUSTON -- The Houston Dynamo, who won the MLS Cup in their first season in Texas, have given coach Dominic Kinnear a new two-year contract, a television station reported Friday.
Kinnear, 38, had one year left on his deal but will now coach the team through the 2008 season, KRIV-TV reported.
"We're delighted we've got Dominic under contract for two more years," Dynamo President Oliver Luck told the station.
A team spokesman did not immediately return a phone message Friday to The Associated Press.
Previously the San Jose Earthquakes, the franchise also won the MLS championships in 2001 and 2003, when Kinnear was an assistant.
