ROME, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Parma progressed to the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup when they beat Napoli 3-1 to complete a 3-2 win on aggregate on Thursday.
The three-times winners dominated the first half and got their reward on the stroke of halftime when Napoli defender Ruben Maldonado tripped Bosnian striker Zlatko Dedic to give away a penalty, which Luca Cigarini converted.
Dedic ran on to a long pass to fire home Parma's second goal early in the second half. He scored again in the 66th minute, angling in a low cross to the near post that slithered under the body of visiting goalie Matteo Gianello and into the net.
Midfielder Samuele Dalla Bona pulled one back for Napoli to ensure a nervy finale, but the late sending off of Gyorgy Garics for a foul on Dedic killed off their chances of forcing the contest into extra time.
In the last eight Parma will face AS Roma.
