KIEV, Nov 20 (Reuters) - Ukrainian premier league sides Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv Metalist set a national record with three red cards and 10 yellow cards in a weekend match.
Metalist beat Dnipro 1-0 with a goal four minutes from half time after a series of incidents that prompted the sendings off on Sunday.
Twenty-nine minutes into the match, Dnipro's Severin Gancharzhik collided with Dnipro's Nazarenko in an aggressive tackle and was in turn hit by Dnipro's Andriy Rusol who came to the aid of his team mate.
Nazarenko struck the referee in a subsequent melee. All three were sent off.
Metalist's victory propelled the side into third place with 26 points, three points ahead of Dnipro. Dynamo Kiev lead the standings with 39 points to 35 for Shakhtar Donetsk in second position.
