BERLIN, Nov 4 (Reuters) - Werder Bremen let their grip on the Bundesliga slip slightly on Saturday when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Energie Cottbus.
Cottbus shocked Werder four minutes into the second half when Cameroon striker Francis Kioyo scored with a 25-metre effort.
Werder, who had scored 18 goals in their previous four league matches, found life a lot tougher going and needed until the 76th minute to grab an equaliser through an Ivan Klasnic header.
With 10 games played, Werder have 20 points and will stay clear at the top for at least another round of games.
VfB Stuttgart move up to second on 18 points thanks to a 4-2 win away to Alemannia Aachen.
Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich, who meet on Sunday, have 16 points apiece and the prize for victory will be to move back up to second place, within a point of Werder.
