Bucharest clubs get stadium bans after crowd trouble

October 5, 2006

BUCHAREST, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Romania's Soccer Federation (FRF) has given one-match stadium bans to Bucharest clubs Steaua, Dinamo and Rapid following crowd trouble during last month's derby matches.

Supporters clashed with each other and riot police during and after Dinamo's 3-1 win over Rapid, while Steaua fans shouted racist slogans at Rapid supporters.

'All three teams will play their next home match in front of empty stands,' a FRF spokesman told Reuters on Thursday, adding that the clubs would also be fined.
