AMSTERDAM, Sept 24 (Reuters) - AZ Alkmaar struck twice after the break to get a 2-0 win at Roda JC Kerkrade and move back to the top of the Dutch soccer league on Sunday.
Midway through the second half Shota Arveladze broke the deadlock for Alkmaar and nine minutes later Moussa Dembele sealed the win.
Alkmaar are top with 13 points after five matches, one point above Ajax Amsterdam who had a 2-0 win over NEC Nijmegen, and PSV Eindhoven, who beat ADO Den Haag by the same score on Saturday.
Ajax struggled for an hour with lowly NEC but then Kenneth Perez opened the scoring and added a second goal eight minutes before time.
Heerenveen slipped to sixth after a 1-0 defeat at Utrecht. Gregoor van Dijk converted a penalty four minutes into injury time after Utrecht goalkeeper Michel Vorm stopped a Danijel Pranjic penalty 10 minutes into the second half.
Jonathan de Guzman sealed Feyenoord's 1-0 win over neighbours Excelsior Rotterdam when he netted a defence-splitting combination with Nick Hofs after eight minutes.
Feyenoord climbed to 11th with seven points, while Excelsior slipped to ninth with the same number of points.
