HOUSTON -- Alejandro Moreno scored two first-half goals to lead the Houston Dynamo to a 4-2 victory over the Carolina Dynamo in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night.

Houston, which rested MLS All-Star Brian Ching and regular goalkeeper Pat Onstadt, advanced to a quarterfinal game Aug. 23 against FC Dallas, which beat the Charleston Battery 5-3 on penalty kicks Wednesday night after they tied 3-3.

Ronald Cerritos and Eddie Robinson also scored for Houston. Wells Thompson and Randy Patterson scored for Carolina.
