FRISCO, Texas -- Nelson Cuevas scored in the 90th minute to tie it at 1, and Club America went on to beat Everton FC in penalty kicks in a preseason friendly on Saturday night.

Carlos Infante, Matias Vuoso, Diego Cervantes, Salvador Cabanas and Juan Carlos Mosqueda each converted penalty kicks for Club America while Everton FC's Alan Stubbs hit the crossbar in the third round as Club America won 5-4 in the shootout.

The match against Club America, the reigning CONCACAF Champions Cup winner, was part of a two-game exhibition tour for the Toffees in the United States that included a 1-1 draw against the Columbus Crew of the MLS on Wednesday night.

Cuevas dribbled past two Everton FC defenders and fired a left-footed shot into the center of the net from about 25 yards away for an unassisted score.

Mikel Arteta scored an unassisted goal off of a free kick in the fourth minute to give Everton FC of the English Premier League a 1-0 lead.
