SECAUCUS, N.J. -- New York Red Bulls goalkeeper Tony Meola will miss the next two to three weeks with a bacterial infection in his right foot and ankle.

Team spokesman Matt Chmura said Wednesday it wasn't known what caused the infection. Meola missed two games with a left calf injury earlier in the season.

Meola, a five-time Major League Soccer All-Star who holds the record among goalies for the most appearances with the U.S. national team, is 1-6-7 in 14 starts this season for the Red Bulls. He leads all MLS goalkeepers in saves with 75 and in save percentage (.789).

New York is last in the Eastern Conference with a 2-6-8 record.

Jon Conway, 1-0-1 in two starts this season, will start in goal for the Red Bulls when they host Colorado on Friday.
