France coach Raymond Domenech is unperturbed that his players would not get the chance to train at World Cup final venue the Olympic Stadium ahead of Sunday's showdown with Italy.
Torrential rain in Berlin over the previous 24 hours had cut up the pitch where Les Bleus and the Azzurri will fight for the world title, forcing both teams to train elsewhere on the eve of the match in a stadium that neither side has played in during the tournament.
Domenech told a press conference: 'I would rather we trained on a good pitch 10 minutes away from the stadium although ideally it would have been closer to our hotel than have to train on a bad pitch for 45 minutes.'
Domenech claimed he had never been worried that the final might be postponed until Monday if conditions deteriorated.
Domenech has said throughout the tournament at virtually every press conference: 'Our objective is the final on July 9.'
When a journalist jokingly suggested that he might have to start thinking about July 10, he said: 'I did not even think about that. It has always been July 9. The final, the final - that's all I have been thinking of.'
