BELGRADE, May 14 (Reuters) - Red Star Belgrade's Under-21 international goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic has moved to Ligue 1 side Nantes.
'The transfer has gone ahead to the satisfaction of both sides and Stojkovic has joined Nantes,' Red Star president Dragan Stojkovic was quoted as saying by the club's website on Saturday.
'We made a tough but inevitable decision. Stojkovic has proved his talent and quality but we will not look for a replacement as we are quite happy with the other keepers in the squad,' he said.
Stojkovic is first-choice goalkeeper for the Serbia and Montenegro under-21 team taking part in the European Championship in Portugal from May 23 to June 4.
He is also expected to be named in the 23-man squad for the June 9-July 9 World Cup finals in Germany although he is uncapped at senior level.
Stojkovic played a key role in Red Star's domestic double this season and was impressive in the under-21 national team's qualifying campaign.
