MBABANE, May 2 (Reuters) - Belgian Jan van Winckel has signed a 15-month contract to coach Swaziland and will arrive on Wednesday to begin working with the tiny kingdom's national team, the National Football Association of Swaziland announced.

Van Winckel has previously been an assistant coach at KV Mechelen in the Belgian second division and assistant to Dutch coach Aad de Mos in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

He faces a baptism of fire when Swaziland take on South Africa on May 19 in the semi-final of the Cosafa Castle Cup, the annual southern African championship.

Swaziland play South Africa in Gaborone and play either in the final or third place play-off against Botswana or Madagascar the next day.
