Glinton gave the Battery the lead nine minutes in and pushed and doubled the score in the 64th on an assist from Jamaican international Omar Daley. Two minutes later Chris Corcoran sent a hard ball from the left flank toward the far post that saw Mariners defender Steve Danbusky redirect it into his own goal, putting the game out of reach.
Toronto Lynx 0 at Vancouver Whitecaps 2
Joey Gjertsen proved the hero for the second straight week for the 'Caps, finding the back of the net in the final minute of the first half for what proved to be the winner. Former Lynx forward Sita-Taty Matondo added an insurance tally in the 82nd minute that deflated a Toronto side that had been threatening to level the game throughout the second half.
