Wigan boss Paul Jewell has backed his England under-21 defender Ryan Taylor to bounce back again after suffering a broken leg in a reserve match at Newcastle last night.
Taylor was on the verge of a first team comeback having recovered from a broken bone in his foot suffered in the FA Cup tie against Leeds in January.
Taylor was operated on in a Newcastle hospital before returning home and is set to face another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
But Jewell said: 'Ryan is an absolutely top lad, a real worker with a fabulous attitude to his game and I have absolutely no doubts he will come back stronger and even more determined to succeed.
'I have seen enough this season to suggest he can have a long career in football and everyone at this club is devastated for him,' Jewell told Wigan's official website.
