Inter midfielder Veron ruled out of Ajax clash

ROME, Feb 14 (Reuters) - Inter Milan's Juan Sebastian Veron will miss next week's Champions League first knockout round match against Ajax Amsterdam due to an ankle injury, the Serie A club said on their website.

The Argentina midfielder, who limped off during the first half of Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Juventus, is expected to be out of action for three weeks.

Veron will miss Serie A matches against Livorno, Udinese and AS Roma but should be fit to play in the return leg against Ajax on March 14.

In his absence, Inter coach Roberto Mancini can call on David Pizarro or Cristiano Zanetti to fill the hole.
