LONDON, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Tottenham Hotspur bought Egyptian midfielder Hossam Ghaly from Dutch club Feyenoord on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old, who has 19 Egypt caps, has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract, Spurs said on their official website.
No financial details were given.
Ghaly will link up with compatriot Mido at the north London club, whose sporting director Damien Comolli said: 'I have watched Hossam since he was 17 years old. He is a versatile, very physical and technically gifted midfielder who will offer us a number of playing options.
'He is a terrific addition to the squad.'
Tottenham lie fourth in the Premier League and Ghaly, who was linked with a move to Spurs' London rivals Arsenal in November, is their first major signing of the January transfer window.
