MADRID, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Real Sociedad completed the signing of Liverpool winger Mark Gonzalez and Portsmouth midfielder John Viafara on loan until the end of the season, the Primera Liga club said on Tuesday.
Chile international Gonzalez, who suffered a serious knee injury last season, joined Liverpool from Spanish side Albacete in October although he has not played for the European champions because of work permit problems.
'I'm coming to San Sebastian with all the enthusiasm in the world to do my bit to help Real Sociedad get back on track in the league,' said the South-African born 21-year-old.
'Although I'm not 100 percent because of my injury I am ready to play.'
Viafara, who won the Libertadores Cup with Once Calas and is a Colombian international, joined Portsmouth at the beginning of the season.
He said that fellow countryman Victor Bonilla and Portsmouth keeper Sander Westerveld, who both played for Sociedad, had given him glowing reports of the Primera Liga club.
'I'm delighted to be here ... and I'm ready to play whenever the coach needs me,' said the 27-year-old.
'Victor Bonilla and Sander Westerveld have both spoken very highly about the club.'
Sociedad, who dropped to 15th spot in the table, just four points above the relegation zone after losing 3-1 at Alaves on Sunday, sacked coach Jose Maria Amorrortu and replaced him with reserve team boss Gonzalo Arconada on Monday.
