MADRID, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Argentine international centre-back Gonzalo Rodriguez has extended his contract with Villarreal for an extra two years until 2011, the Primera Liga club said on Friday.

The highly rated 21-year-old joined Villarreal from San Lorenzo in 2004 for an estimated 3 million euros and has become a fixture in the club's back four.

Villarreal are in fifth place in the Primera Liga and face Glasgow Rangers in the last 16 of the Champions League.
