PRAGUE, Czech Republic -- The Czech Republic soccer team will be based in Westerburg, Germany, as it prepares to play the United States in its World Cup opener.
The Czech camp is about 100 miles from Gelsenkirchen, where the Czechs meet the United States on June 12. Five days later, the Czechs travel about 75 miles to Cologne for their match against Ghana. They play their final game on June 22 against Italy in Hamburg, about 300 miles from Westerburg.
The U.S. team will be based in Hamburg and will fly to the site of its first-round games.
