AMSTERDAM, Jan 18 (Reuters) - Ajax Amsterdam defender Julien Escude has agreed to join Spain's Sevilla, the Dutch side said on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Frenchman, who joined Ajax from Stade Rennes in 2003, has failed to hold down a regular starting place this season.

Media reports said Sevilla will pay Ajax two million euros ($2.43 million) for Escude.
