Costa Rican club Herediano have signed former Manchester City, Derby and West Ham striker Paulo Wanchope for the upcoming Clausura tournament.
Wanchope returns to the club where he began his professional career in 1994 with a 4-1 win over Perez Zeledon.
'I still remember when coach Carlos Miloc ordered me to start warming up,' said Wanchope in remarks on his website. 'My heart missed a beat.'
Herediano will formally unveil the player later on Thursday.
'I felt it was a nice option, so I accepted to come here,' the 29-year-old explained.
'I love this club and I want to lend my experience to achieve important goals.'
