BELGRADE, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Serbia and Montenegro league leaders Red Star Belgrade signed a four-year deal with Under-21 international midfielder Nenad Milijas for an undisclosed fee on Thursday.
Milijas joined the former European champions from neighbours Zemun, who on Wednesday signed Red Star's former captain Nenad Lalatovic from Ukrainian champions Shaktar Donetsk.
'I am delighted to be part of this Red Star team and I hope to win many trophies with the club during my stay here,' Milijas told reporters.
The versatile midfielder was a key member of the Serbia and Montenegro under-21 team that qualified for this year's European Championship finals in Portugal.
Red Star lead the first division at the winter break three points ahead of champions Partizan Belgrade while Zemun face a bitter struggle to stay up as seven teams will be relegated from the 16-team league this year.
