Fulham defender Alain Goma has denied a report claiming he will quit Craven Cottage at the end of the season.
Goma's contract expires this summer but both player, who is first-choice centre-back when fit, and club recently confirmed they are interested in negotiating an extension.
However, a report yesterday quotes Goma as saying he is planning to leave Fulham in search of a new challenge - to the dismay of the 33-year-old Frenchman.
'I was very disappointed to read the article as it was not a fair reflection of what I said,' he told the club's official website.
'I'm very happy at Fulham and in London and if the opportunity to stay was offered, it would be something that would make me very happy.
'Obviously it's my aim to play as long as possible and if it was not an option to stay at Fulham, then I'd consider playing elsewhere on a new adventure.
'But I love London - it's a wonderful, cosmopolitan city and everything you want is here.
'I think Fulham have played some very good football this season and I'm happy to be part of that.
'The most important thing is for the team to succeed so I shall continue to play my football and hopefully the future will be positive for me personally and for the club.'
