FRANKFURT, Dec 20 (Reuters) - Turkish defender Umit Davala will leave Werder Bremen over the mid-season break.
The 32-year-old full-back, who helped Bremen to the league and cup double in 2004, missed most of last season because of injury and has been out recently with a groin problem.
His departure is by mutual consent, the club said.
Bremen are third in the Bundesliga, eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich going into the six-week mid-season break.
They play Juventus in the first knock-out round of the Champions League next year.
