Baldini takes over from Gregucci at Lecce

MILAN, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Serie A side Lecce appointed former Parma coach Silvio Baldini as replacement for the sacked Angelo Gregucci on Tuesday.

Gregucci was dismissed earlier in the day after the club suffered their fourth defeat in five games this season with a 1-0 loss to Empoli on Sunday.

Baldini previously worked at Chievo, Brescia, Empoli and Palermo before taking charge at Parma last season where he was sacked after 15 games.

He will now have the task of turning around Lecce's season after a poor start in which they have picked up just a single point from the first 15 available.

Gregucci found it hard to follow popular Czech coach Zdenek Zeman, who had guided the southern team to a creditable 11th place last season.
