Foxborough, Mass. -- The New England Revolution announced Tuesday that the team has waived midfielder Cássio and midfielder/forward Felix Brillant. Both players had counted as Senior Internationals on the Revolution's 18-player senior roster.

Cássio, 25, was signed by the Revolution on February 18, 2005. The Brazilian left-sided player appeared in three MLS matches, starting two of those, for a total of 112 minutes of playing time. In three starts with the Revolution reserve team, Cássio posted one assist in 223 minutes.

Brillant, 24, a native of Montreal, Quebec, was acquired by the Revs in the 6th round (56th overall) of the 2004 MLS SuperDraft. In 2004, Brillant appeared in 19 games, recording six starts. He scored his first and only goal of the season against the MetroStars on June 26, 2004. He also notched two assists during the 856 minutes he played in 2004.

Brillant did not see any playing time for the Revs' first team in 2005. In four games played in the MLS Reserve Division for the Revs, Brillant tallied one goal and one assist in 302 minutes. Brilliant has been named as an alternate for the Canada national team for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup.
