SEDAN, France, Jan 23 (Reuters) - Sedan coach Henri Stambouli was fired after his side were beaten 4-1 at resurgent Nantes in a French first division match on Wednesday, the club said on Thursday.

Stambouli, 41, is to be replaced by former international midfielder Dominique Bathenay until the end of the season.

Sedan are 16th in the 20-strong table on 24 points from 23 matches. They have been eliminated from the two domestic cups.
