Internacional have rejected an €18 million offer from Napoli for in-demand Leandro Damiao, reiterating that the Brazil international is not for sale.

Premier League side Tottenham have appeared to come closest to securing a deal for the 23-year-old, but Internacional are adamant they will be able to keep hold of the striker.

Damiao, who was ruled out of Brazil's Confederations Cup winning campaign with a leg injury, has also been targeted by Marseille, and Napoli  recently entered the fray for his signature.

Despite earlier denying Internacional had received a bid from the Italian side, the club's sporting director Luis Cesar Souto revealed the three-time Brazilian champions have rejected Napoli's approach.

"We had a verbal offer presented by Napoli of €18 million," Souto said. "We do not accept that this is Leandro's true value. What Napoli have offered is very far from what we expected the bid to be.

"We believe he will be part of the Brazil national team for the 2014 World Cup. We have not yet given them a fixed price because it is not in our interest to negotiate for him.

"We have just sold Fred and Rodrigo Moledo. We don't have to sell Leandro and we won't  be taking an offer for him."
