RMC reported Leonardo, PSG's sporting director, and Cavani's agent had struck a deal which would see the Napoli striker, 26, move to the French capital with an annual salary of €8.5 million. However, when contacted by the radio station, the Brazilian denied any such agreement had been made.

- Should Cavani leave?

The initial report claimed Leonardo, 43, had been told by a member of the player's entourage that PSG were in competition with Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid to secure his services.

RMC cited an unnamed "source close to Napoli" as saying: "The club is ready to sell Cavani. There's no doubt it's his last year. The fee would be around €65 million, but the club could slightly lower that."
