Arsene Wenger's side have headed into the final few games of the season with their hopes of Champions League qualification in the balance on numerous occasions in recent years and have always managed to edge out their rivals to secure a berth in Europe's elite competition.

Now the Gunners face a potentially defining week in their season, with home games against Norwich and Everton followed by a tricky away game at Fulham, inspiring Koscielny to suggest his side perform better when the pressure is applied.

"I think it is good to have a little pressure," he told Arsenal's official website. "Not a lot because then you can't play, you are afraid and you do nothing on the pitch. A little pressure is good to make sure you give your best for the team.

"We haven't won a trophy for a long time, and I think it's important to have this pressure for yourself, for the Club, to give your best on the pitch.

"You need some luck, to have players who are in form as well. It is difficult but if everybody is ready to fight together and be focused then you can be successful."

Arsenal boss Wenger is hoping influential midfielder Jack Wilshere will be fit to play against Norwich this weekend, after he was forced to spend another spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
