Lassad Nouioui believes his Celtic team-mate Victor Wanyama "could play for any team in Europe" as speculation regarding the midfielder's future continues to grow.

Lassad signed for the Scottish champions last summer from Deportivo La Coruna but has struggled to make an impact in Glasgow.

Wanyama, in contrast, has developed into one of the side's most important players since joining from Beerschot in 2011, and has gone on to attract interest from the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal.

When asked who his Player of the Year at Celtic would be, Lassad told the club's official website: "My first choice would be Victor but if I could pick two I would also pick Fraser [Forster].

"When I was in Spain at Deportivo, our goalkeeper was a very good one - Daniel Aranzubia - but Fraser is even better, so he must be very good.

"Victor could play for any team in Europe and has a great potential. He is an excellent player and when he's not playing, I don't think the team is the same."

Lassad is one of only four Celtic players not to have a received a call-up for the current set of international fixtures, but the forward insists training at the club has not been disrupted as a result.

"There are so many people away with their national team, and it's good for the team to have so many players playing for their country," he said.

"When we are training with three or four players it's a harder session, more physical, but that's okay as we have to train and some of the younger boys have trained with us as well."
