The German Football Association (DFB) announced on Monday that the international will take place in Kaiserslautern on August 14.

"The game against Paraguay is a welcome affair for us ahead of the World Cup in order to familiarise ourselves with the typical South American style... and players with outstanding technical skills," Germany coach Joachim Low said.

The Euro 2012 semi-finalists already have friendlies arranged against Ecuador and United States for the summer, both taking place in the States.

Germany, who have yet to qualify for the 2014 finals, are top of their group with ten points from four games. Sweden sit in second place with seven from three.
