A heavy challenge from Wednesday midfielder Danny Pugh on Albion's Inigo Calderon, and a subsequent booking for the player, resulted in a furious reaction from the visiting bench.

A bust-up soon ensued, involving players and staff from both sides, with Jones and Oatway eventually being sent to the stands as stewards and police tried to restore order.

Jones and Oatway each have until 16.00 GMT on Friday to respond to the charge.

Wednesday ran out eventual 3-1 winners at Hillsborough.
