Daniele Portanova has spoken of his continuing anger as he prepares to make his return for Bologna following a four-month ban.
The defender, 33, was charged with failing to report an incident of match-fixing in 2010 during a game between Bologna and Bari.
Portanova's ban was cut by 40% on appeal but he contested his innocence throughout.
"I have lived with so much anger for the last four months," he told reporters. "That's what happens when you know you're innocent.
"I believe there were no grounds to denounce me and I hope that such incidents do not happen again.
"I want to thank all those who were close to me in recent months, and it is for them that I will put all my efforts from now on."
