Mario Gomez insists that he gets on well with his rivals for a spot up front for Bayern Munich and that all of them are needed if they are to win the Bundesliga title.

Germany international Mario Gomez missed the first 12 Bundesliga games of the season after an ankle surgery. On his return in November's 5-0 win over Hannover, he scored with his first touch of the season. In only six games in the Bundesliga and the Champions League the 27-year-old has netted three goals already.

Mario Mandzukic signed from Wolfsburg in the summer and Claudio Pizarro also arrived in the off-season for a second spell at the club, giving the Bundesliga leaders plenty of options when it comes to who spearheads their attack.

Mandzukic has scored nine league goals since making his Bayern debut, while Pizarro is yet to add to his account for the club since leaving for spells at Chelsea and Werder Bremen.

"I hit it off with both," Gomez told Bild. "I think it is great thing for the team to know that we have three good strikers out there who can always score. The last two years I got a lot of time on the pitch. When I went on holiday [at the end of the season] I had nothing, not a trophy nor a championship."

Despite making two finals last year, Bayern have not been able to get their hands on any silverware since 2010. "It is in us to make it happen this year. Every player is greedy and willing."

Over the weekend Bayern Munich extended their Bundesliga lead to 11 points, leading to one bookmaker paying out on them winning the title.

"I think, that's too early. And I refuse to accept any congratulations," Gomez said. "Like we have opened that gap we could also lose it. We know we have to remain focused. Then we can only be stopped by ourselves."
