Matias Britos gave Leon the perfect start with a fifth-minute opener but the hosts had Jose Vazquez sent off eight minutes later, only for Miguel Martinez's 20th-minute red card to even up the numbers.

Jaguares got back on level terms in the 27th minute when Luis Rey converted a penalty, but it was only a temporary reprieve.

Luis Montes restored Leon's lead two minutes later and then Hernan Burbano gave his team some breathing space with a third goal seven minutes into the second half.

Carlos Pena rounded off the scoring in the 79th minute and the ninth-spotted visitors' evening went from bad to worse five minutes later when Franco Arizala was dismissed.
