Chelsea midfielder Oscar is ready to fill the void which could be left by Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge, setting his sights on scoring 20 goals a season for his new club.

Oscar, 21, has already made his mark in front of goal in his first season with the European champions by netting three times in the Champions League.

With Lampard's days as a Chelsea regular apparently coming towards an end, the diminutive Brazilian is talking up his chances of continuing the strong presence in front of goal that the Blues legend possesses.

"I have been a midfielder who is a regular goalscorer and scoring 20 in a season was normal for me," he told Chelsea's website. "I know it could be a bit more difficult in England because you are not playing all the time and you play in different positions, but I expect to score many goals for Chelsea.

"I hope to keep the average of between 10 to 20 goals a season, that would be good. Long distance goals are the most common goals I have scored. I often try to position myself in the place I was for this last goal against Shakhtar, so that when someone passes the ball I am close enough.

"I score quite a few like this, but because my more usual position is just outside the box, that is where I score most of my goals from."

Oscar admitted he had been enchanted by the atmosphere created at Premier League stadiums and he is relishing Sunday's big showdown with Manchester United.

"The crowds here are similar to Brazil and when you play, the adrenaline is really unbelievable, you feel it rushing through you," he said. "I played in a city in Brazil where there are only two big clubs and Internacional versus Gremio was unbelievable - the pressure, the team atmosphere and everybody flying on the adrenaline.

"The big games against big opponents, those are the best games to play in."
