Simeone rules out ever moving to Real

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has ruled out the possibility of ever moving across the city to manage rivals Real Madrid due to his love for his current club.

Simeone has been a major success since taking over at Atletico in December, leading the side to Europa League success last season, while the club currently sit second in La Liga this term.

With his managerial stock rising by the day, the former Argentina international has stated he would never be able to make the move to Real, should they ever come calling.

"I would never coach Real Madrid because I'm sentimental about the old things," he told a Spanish radio station.

"I must be mad but it lives in my heart what I feel for this football club. I have a contract until the end of the season and if you know me then you know I go on feelings.

"At the moment I feel good and I hope we can continue game by game, achieving what I've always wanted for Atletico. The credit goes to the players and we have taken advantage of the different characteristics they have."

Atletico are tied on points with league leaders Barcelona, only trailing on goal difference, and sit top of their Europa League group, with maximum points.
