The hearing for the extradition of Vladimir Antonov goes ahead despite difficulties with expert witnesses.

Lithuanian authorities have issued a warrant for the extradition of the 37-year-old Russian in connection with alleged multi-million pound fraud at a bank he used to control.

In November, prosecutors named Antonov and his business partner Raimondas Baranauskas as the main suspects in a pre-trial investigation into the alleged stripping of hundreds of millions of pounds in assets from Snoras Bank. Antonov denies any dishonesty.

His case is expected to be heard at Westminster Magistrates' Court in January after district judge John Zani granted his lawyers more time to present the evidence of the expert witnesses.

Antonov, based in London, bought Portsmouth last year but stood down as the south coast club's chairman when his Convers Sports Initiatives company went into administration towards the end of the year.
