Kane, 19, signed for Norwich on transfer deadline day from Tottenham on a season-long loan, and has since made two appearances for the Canaries.

In his latest outing, the striker was forced off in the 50th minute of his side's 1-0 Capital One Cup win over Doncaster, and the club have now announced the full extent of his injury.

A club statement read: "Norwich City can confirm the foot injury suffered by on-loan Spurs striker Harry Kane in Wednesday night's Capital One Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers was a fractured fifth metatarsal.

"Kane will undergo surgery on Tuesday and the England Under-21 international is expected to be sidelined for around eight weeks."
