Susaeta, 24, had been linked with several top clubs including Manchester United, but he has now confirmed his future lies with the Zurigorri by signing a new deal, which contains a €35 million buyout clause.

It is good news for Athletic in wake of Javi Martinez's departure and Fernando Llorente stating his desire to leave.

The winger came through the famous Lezama academy, making his debut in 2007, and has gone on to play 164 league games for the club, as well as picking up three Under-21 caps for Spain.

Born in Eibar, 2011-12 was Susaeta's finest season in the red and white of Athletic as they reached the final of the Copa del Rey and Europa League, although they were defeated in both.

Venezuela international Fernando Amorebieta is also expected to agree terms on a new deal in the near future.
