Manchester United have announced an agreement with Toshiba Medical Systems, who will become an official partner of the club.

PA PhotosUnited have signed many lucrative deals in the recent past, including with DHL

The five-year partnership, which is unique to British football, will see an overhaul in medical treatment at the club's Carrington training ground.

United are currently carrying out major redevelopment of Carrington in order to create a state-of-the-art facility, as the training ground has remained largely unchanged in the 12 years Sir Alex Ferguson's men have occupied the site.

"Our players are at the centre of Manchester United and it is vital that we are able to offer them the best possible medical support,'' said United's commercial director Richard Arnold.

Toshiba Medical Systems Europe chief executive Chikao Kamijima said: "This will ensure that the players and staff at Manchester United are given the best support possible and should also help to promote Manchester United as a leading innovator in football and player wellbeing.''
