Niklas Moisander is poised to complete his transfer from AZ Alkmaar to Ajax for a fee in the region of €3 million, the player's agent has confirmed.
Moisander, 26, is expected to put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal with the reigning Eredivisie champions after completing his medical examinations at the club on Monday, with a fee believed to have been agreed with AZ Alkmaar.
"It's a matter of the final details now, but I expect that everything will work out fine,'' The Finland international's agent Soren Lerby told Voetbal International.
Ajax are looking to Moisander to provide a replacement for the departed Belgian centre-back Jan Vertonghen, who joined Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur earlier this summer.
Moisander previously spent two years with the club between 2004 and 2006, having joined at a young age from Finnish side Turun Palloseura, but failed to make a first-team appearance for the club.
