Borussia Dortmund midfielder Sven Bender is to undergo hernia surgery on Monday.

Bender, 23, is set to be out for four weeks, according to team doctor Markus Braun.

He had been called up by Germany boss Joachim Low for the friendly with Argentina on Wednesday but has now withdrawn from the squad.

Bender will also miss Sunday's DFB Super Cup clash with Bayern Munich.
