Atletico Madrid wing-back Filipe Luis has agreed a contract extension that ties him to the Liga club until June 30, 2017.

Filipe, 26, Luis joined Atletico from Deportivo La Coruna in 2010 and has played 88 games for the Rojiblancos, helping the club win the UEFA Super Cup in 2010 and the Europa League earlier this year.

The Brazil international said on Atletico's website: "Last season was the best of my career and right now I feel important in the dressing room.

"I hope to fulfil my contract because Atletico Madrid will return to be where they deserve to be and I'm happy to form part of the history of the club."
