Bologna are determined to keep hold of Italy international midfielder Alessandro Diamanti despite reports that several leading European clubs are interested in signing him.

The club's president, Albano Guaraldi, praised Diamanti - who scored the winning penalty as Cesare Prandelli's Azzurri beat England in a shoot-out on Sunday - as a player "who gives everything."

Bologna bought the 29-year-old outright last weekend after having previously co-owned him with Bologna, and Guaraldi told tutttomercatoweb.com: "Diamanti is a player that gives everything and it is likely that he will remain with us next season."

The president also said playmaker Gaston Ramirez - another player to have attracted widespread interest - could also remain at the club.

Ramirez is reported to be a target for clubs including Premier League champions Manchester City, Inter Milan and Juventus this summer, but Guaraldi said: "I don't exclude that Ramirez could stay. We have had offers for him, but he is worth at least €20million. If the right offer comes along, then he could leave."
