Newcastle Jets have released Nikolai Topor-Stanley with the key defender likely to join a rival A-League club.The Jets said on Friday they had let the 27-year-old out of his contract to pursue an offer from another team.An announcement on Topor-Stanley's future is expected in the coming days with Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC and the new western Sydney franchise among possible destinations."He is a good footballer and this is a wonderful opportunity for Nikolai to continue his career at another club," Jets chief executive Robbie Middleby said."This opportunity gives him longevity in the game and as a club we couldn't stand in his way."We would like to thank Nikolai for his contribution to the Jets and wish him well in the future."Topor-Stanley has been one of the Jets' best players since signing with the club in 2009.
