Reigning A-League champions Brisbane have finalised their coaching staff for the 2012-13 season following the appointment of Jeff Hopkins as assistant coach.

The 48-year-old will assist new head coach Rado Vidosic, who took over when Ange Postecoglou moved to Melbourne Victory, after four successful seasons in charge of the Roar's W-League team.

A former Wales international, Hopkins guided the Roar's women's team to four grand final appearances for two title wins and also coached the Australian women's U-17 side in 2010.

"His tactical awareness is excellent and his analytical skills will be of good value for our club," said Vidosic.

"His personality and his football philosophy fit in perfectly with our core club values."
